Dominican Music Awards Nominees Will Be Announced On Tuesday.


The official media launch and announcement of the nominees for the Dominican Music Awards will take place at the Alliance Francaise on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, at 11 a.m. The event which is in its first year is hosted by Creole Heartbeat is hosting the first-ever Dominica Music Awards.


The nominees in 47 categories will be announced, and the public will have the opportunity to vote for the ultimate winners from January 11th to January 20th. The Creole Heart Beat website will be used for voting.


Leroy 'Wadix' Charles, the manager of Creole Heartbeat, stated in a news release that the award will attempt to unify, recognise, and reward Dominican musicians, artists, entertainers, and music professionals.


“The illustrious judges have been selected. The date for the hour is January 29th at 7 p.m at the Goodwill Parish Hall. Dominican talent in the genres of calypso, candance lypso, traditional song, Bouyon, reggae, dancehall, R&B, hip-hop, Soca, gospel afrobeat, zouk and compa will be awarded for their contributions in the music industry in Dominica during 2020 and 2021.”


Gregory Rabess, Elias Dupis, Sobers esprit, Jason Jno Baptist, Daryll Bob, and Val Cuffy will be among the judges. On the final night, six lifetime achievement awards in the categories of traditional music, candance lypso, bouyon, reggae, Calypso, and Soca will be handed, as well as 'The Felix Henderson award,' a special creole honor that will be donated to someone or an organization.


Wadix is urging the corporate community to support this "Majestic" occasion, citing the music industry as the hardest-hit sector during the pandemic. He claims it will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.


Only 100 persons will be physically permitted to attend the performance. Multi solutions inc., on the other hand, will broadcast it.
