Anew queen was crowned on this year’s staging of the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition, Miss Kingston and St Andrew, Anjell Bryan capped the title.
The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Festival Queen 2014 was at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in St Andrew on Saturday, where 25-year-old Bryan also won awards for Most Culturally Aware and Most Active in the Community
Miss St Ann, Sharlene Codner, who was first runner-up and second runner-up, went to Miss Trelawny, Honica Brown, who also won Most Poised.
The other sectional awards winners were: Miss St James, Trudy-Ann Hylton, for Most Congenial; Miss Portland Tahera Brown won Best Performer for Jamaica Song.
Bryan received a $500,000 cash prize, along with other gift items and packages.
Singer Romain Virgo gave a spectacular performance with his hit songs.
