Raging Fyah and Kabaka Pyramid are both promising energetic performances for international night one of Reggae Sumfest scheduled on July 17th at the Catherine Hall complex, Montego Bay.
The Raging Fyah group has expressed extreme delight about being a part of an international event which shows diversity. This will be the groups’ first time on the show, which is longstanding in Jamaica for its dedication to Reggae music, and they are planning a spectacular set.
“This performance will be very special and will be tailored specifically for this event. We are aware of the diversity which the festival offers, so we will make this performance one to be remembered,” said members of Raging Fyah.
The six-member groups’ new album will be released early next year. They also hinted at the possibility of a collaboration and video with Kabaka Pyramid to be released soon.
“Patrons/fans can expect nothing less than an immaculate performance; they will definitely be uplifted by the conscious lyrics, soothing melodies and heartfelt rhythms. It will be Roots Rocking Reggae music delivered at its finest by Raging Fyah,” they added.
Kabaka Pyramid
Kabaka Pyramid, who is currently on a Young Lion US Tour with Iba Mahr, is also on a mission to highlight consciousness through his music. His latest single ‘Well done’ produced by Damion ‘Jr Gong’ Marley has been topping charts in South Florida. Other hits such as ‘Mi Alright’, featuring Chronixx; ‘Warrior’ featuring Protoje and ‘Never Gonna Be a Slave’ are all receiving rave reviews and great air play on local radios.
With his current tour scheduled to end on July 12, Kabaka is assuring fans that it will lay the platform for a high energy performance on his Sumfest debut.
“It will be high energy from I hit the stage; I will definitely debut new material as well as performing songs everyone knows and loves. Music is the key to my mission and I’m here to share consciousness through my music and elevate Jamaica on a different level,” he declared.
“I am here to represent for the entire movement. Everyone is familiar with Chronixx, Protoje, and Jesse, so it is my time to step up to the plate and add to the good vibration,” he added.
The event is being presented in association with Digicel, Iberostar, Secrets, Pepsi, Jamaica Tourist Board, Red Stripe, Red Bull and the Gleaner.
