Barbados' First All-Inclusive Music Streaming Service 'Selecta Charts' Launches April 8t

Selecta Charts is gearing up for its much anticipated website launch on April 8th. As Barbados' first all-inclusive music streaming service, users from around the world can log on to www.selectacharts.com and listen to any genre of music from Barbadian artistes free of cost. CEO and founder Paul Husbands created this service ‘To give established artists a new stomping ground... as well as the up and coming music prodigies; so they can be discovered and make their name known island wide and beyond.

With over 100,000 views on their first Facebook video, the buzz is growing for the launch of this exciting new service. Selecta Charts is the first to pioneer a change in the seasonal music industry in Barbados, which peaks in the months around the Crop Over festival but wanes in the remaining months of the year.

Soca, the favourite genre of choice for Crop Over, also faces a challenge as it tends to be only promoted during this time. To remedy this, Soca music and other genres such as hip hop, reggae, pop, gospel, R&B and dancehall will be consistently released year round. As a result fans will have continual access to fresh music, and their selections will simultaneously rank the artistes, causing the most popular songs to rise to the #1 spot.

Esteemed Soca artistes Lil' Rick and Biggie Irie have also come on board through their management Pyramid Entertainment; the benefits for them apparent, from gaining more exposure to a global audience to mobilising their fan base. Husbands encourages users to fully explore the site, enjoy the music, support the artistes and 'Take Soca to the world!'.
