Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke’s Prison Release Date Pushed Back to 2029 Amid Reported Diddy Fight
Christopher “Dudus” Coke, the former Jamaican crime figure and reputed Shower Posse leader, has had his projected release date from a United States federal prison pushed back by nearly one year, according to updated information attributed to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).
Coke, 57, was previously scheduled to be released on January 29, 2028. His updated federal inmate record lists January 28, 2029, a change of 365 days.
The development was reported by the Jamaica Observer on October 14, 2026, amid allegations that Coke was involved in a confrontation with Sean “Diddy” Combs at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.
Bureau of Prisons Records Show New Release Date
The BOP inmate information identifies Coke under federal register number 02257-748 and lists FCI Fort Dix as his correctional facility. The reported release-date change reverses approximately one year of a previously reported reduction.
In May 2026, the Jamaica Gleaner reported that Coke’s release date had moved forward to January 29, 2028, following earlier adjustments attributed to good-conduct time and potential credits from qualifying prison programs.
Federal authorities have not publicly explained the latest adjustment. It remains unclear whether it reflects disciplinary penalties, changes in earned-time credits, administrative recalculation or another factor.
Alleged Prison Fight With Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
TMZ reported on October 14, citing anonymous sources inside the prison, that Coke and Combs allegedly fought on Friday, October 9. The report alleged Combs sustained a head injury and received treatment outside the prison.
According to TMZ, tensions followed reports of Combs’ alleged access to prohibited items and privileges. Subsequent prison searches reportedly led to the confiscation of contraband, upsetting other inmates.
TMZ also reported disciplinary confinement following the alleged confrontation. The fight and its circumstances have not been independently confirmed by federal prison officials, and Combs’ representative said his team could not independently verify the incident.
Was Coke’s Release Date Changed Because of the Reported Fight?
There is no official confirmation that the alleged altercation caused the one-year release-date change. The public inmate locator shows projected release dates but does not establish why an individual date changed.
Federal good-conduct and earned-time credits can affect projected release dates, and certain disciplinary violations may affect credits. However, no publicly verified disciplinary finding establishes that Coke lost a year of credits because of the alleged incident.
Who Is Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke?
Coke became one of Jamaica’s most prominent organized-crime figures through his association with the Shower Posse and his influence in Tivoli Gardens, West Kingston.
Efforts to extradite him to the United States in 2010 triggered a major security operation in Tivoli Gardens and widespread violence. He was subsequently arrested and extradited to face federal charges.
Coke pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy and conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon. In 2012, he received a 23-year federal prison sentence. His original projected release date was July 4, 2030, before subsequent adjustments.
What Happens Next?
The reported BOP information establishes that Coke’s projected release date has moved from January 2028 to January 2029. The reason for the adjustment, and whether it is connected to the alleged confrontation with Combs, remains unconfirmed.
Caribbean EMagazine will continue following developments concerning Coke’s projected release date and any official clarification from federal authorities.
