Miya Marcano, the 19-year-old daughter of a Trinidadian Soca DJ Marlon Marcano aka DJ Eternal Vibe, has been missing since Friday, according to police in Orlando, Florida.
Miya Marcano, a Valencia College student in Orlando, Florida, was last seen Friday about 5 p.m., according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office. She lived and worked in Arden Villas, an apartment complex about a mile from the University of Central Florida, which has one of the highest enrollments in the country.
Authorities in Florida are still looking for a missing 19-year-old college student after a person of interest in the investigation was discovered dead Monday in an apparent suicide, according to deputies.
Armando Manuel Caballero, a maintenance worker at Arden Villas Apartments, where Marcano lived and worked, was listed as a person of interest in her abduction by police.
They said Caballero expressed romantic interest in Marcano but was "repeatedly denied" because she did not share his feelings.
Caballero allegedly entered Marcano's apartment using a master key just minutes before she was last seen at the apartment complex.
A warrant for his arrest had been issued, but before he could be apprehended and questioned, his body was discovered in the garage of another apartment complex by maintenance workers.
Miya Marcano's family say they discovered indications of a scuffle in her bedroom after she vanished.
Marcano's cousin told WFLA that they discovered her room in "disarray," with jewelry on the floor and the bed unmade.
Anyone with knowledge is being asked to come forward by the Orange County Sheriff's Office in Florida. They said they are analyzing surveillance footage to attempt to put together what happened to Marcano, who was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, trousers, and a black hoodie.
