And now to the delight of music lovers and just in time for the holiday season, Morgan Heritage is releasing "Strictly Roots, the Deluxe Edition" on December 9th, 2016. Speaking of the Deluxe project which includes remixes and previously unreleased songs, Morgan Heritage explained the remix selection process, "Last year we joined forces with Indaba Music on a remix contest where we asked fans, producers and DJ's alike to do remixes for the song through Indaba Music and their 1 million+ members. "Strictly Roots, the Deluxe Edition" comprises the remixes of Light It Up feat Jo Mersa Marley, the son of 11 time Grammy winner Stephen Marley and grandson of the great Bob Marley. "There are a few remixes of Light It Up feat Jo Mersa Marley. One from Silencyde, a young talented producer from Arizona that won the Light It Up remix contest. A second from Canadian producer Dubmatix who is a 6 time Juno award winner/nominee. The 3rd remix was done by Guido Craveiro who is one of the masterminds behind the sound of the award winning and multi-platinum selling group Seeed from Germany. It was an honor to work with these super talented producers." The Deluxe edition also features 4 bonus songs. Speaking of each track, the band elaborated on their meanings "Come Fly feat Flogging Molly is a song about freedom of the mind, body and spirit. - Fashion News! - Afrofunkk Spring/Summer 2017 Collection - "Warriors Walk Alone"
Everywhere in the world that her feet tread, eccentric fashion designer Charlene Sheppard-Duncan continuously searches for her global tribe - those unique pockets of the world where authentic and indigenous art and artisans live. Every month, her one-woman journey has taken her to almost every continent: Asia, Africa and the Far East seeking out kindred spirits who collaborate creatively with her in creating one-of-a-kind pieces to be featured under her fashion brands – AFROFUNKK and The Sykadellic Shack. After a year-long hunt, she has come home. Always in search of unique fabrics, techniques and inspiration, Sheppard-Duncan continuously travels, often going alone into unknown places and spaces. On her solitary journey, she carries with her Fair-Trade practices and a hands-on approach to quality control all the way through the process. "Warriors Walk Alone is me creating my own funk. Like a warrior. They stand tall. They go out and hunt and they have to come back with the goods. Me going to these tribes all over the world is like hunting season. When I travel, I feel alive and in sync with the tribal energy of the planet, and I bring that vibe back to the world in the global language of fashion." - Charlene Sheppard-Duncan On November 26th at the Big Black Box, AFROFUNKK will host its Spring/Summer 2017 collection, entitled, "Warriors Walk Alone." She will also officially launch a second home decor and lifestyle collection from The Sykadellic Shack. Sheppard-Duncan earned her formal training at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York and has over twenty years of experience as a fashion and jewelry designer. The Warriors Walk Alone collection will carry over 70 pieces ranging from Christmas Cocktail wear to Carnival pieces, which the designer has labeled "fresh and funky", all the way down to the flirty, fun options for Easter and vacation time. Items sold under 'The Sykadellic Shack' brand are designed using elements of tribal cultures mixed together in the mind of this Trinbagonian world traveller. In a world that is racing head-long towards 100% machine-made efficiency, Sheppard-Duncan strives to keep grounded to the earth and all its organic riches, by ensuring that the materials she uses are designed from scratch. For example, she has sat with village weavers, dyers and potters to perfect the unique fabrics from which her fashions are created. The 2017 collection will be available in phases, but the designer promises that the pieces can be styled for any occasion all year through. I'll call someone upstairs and say, ‘Pass me the remote.’ ” On his favorite thing to do when chilling “Watching TV. That's me.” Action movies, he says. He likes them violent. He wants jaws broken and heads exploding. He liked the last Captain America movie, but the end was bullshit. He thinks the Bourne movies are good, but they're all the same. The last really good movie he saw? The Ninja Turtles movie: “It was about Krang, the villain, who came from another world and tried to take over the world with Shredder; then he betrayed Shredder and the Ninja Turtles have to save the world from this war-machine crap. In England when you get famous the first thing you do is get married and have kids. In Jamaica it's different—like my parents had me and they got married 11 years later.” His behavior at nightclubs “In Jamaica, we wine on each other. It's our culture. People see it the first time, they're like, What is going on? It's like they're having sex in the club! No, that's just the culture. It's how we are.” On Retirement Bolt insist he will not miss the Paparazzi after he retires “I like the simple life,” he says. “I'm from the country.
