Shawntay Henry, Miss New York Wins Miss Caribbean United States 2016


Shawntay Henry, Miss New York was crowned Miss Caribbean United States 2016 on Saturday night (Mar 19th) at Performing Arts Center in New York

As the title holder Henry will represent the United States at Miss Caraïbes Hibiscus in St.Martin and Miss Jaycees in Antigua. She also won "Best Talent" for the competition.

First runners-up went to Miss Connecticut Tonille Watkis, while Raynel Carroll, Miss Antigua and Barbuda was second runners-up and the "Top Model" award.

Rounding off the top five was Isabela Sylvester, Miss U.S Virgin Islands, who was fourth along with winning the Miss People’s Choice award. Fifth place went to Rachelle Legrand, Miss New Jersey.

Destiny Wagner, who represented Belize was awarded Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality.

The Miss Caribbean United States Pageant is the premier pageant for young ladies from the Caribbean, Central and South America living in the United States, or born in the United States of Caribbean, Central or South American descent.
