Caribbean Movie Bazodee Wins Two Awards at Latin Asian Film Festival


Machel Montano's debut film won the Audience Award and Best Music Award at theLatin Asian Festival, which took place in London.

Bazodee was screened at the Festival, which ran from March 9 to 19 in London.

Natalie Perera, who played the lead female role of Anita Pachouri, and Trinidad-born Valmike Rampersad who pays the villain, Nikhil, in the film, were present for the Festival. Both actors live in London.

The film's co-producer Ancil McKain was also present.

Bazodee was written by McKain's wife Claire Ince and has been screened in Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados, USA and Canada so far.

The LAFF is produced by Tongues on Fire, a not-for-profit organisation whose goal is to provide a platform for independent film and arts with a link to South Asia.
