Trinidadian chutney hit house Bakyard Studios drops spicy chutney hits “Ramsingh” and “Balkissoon” by Omardath Maharaj and Raymond Ramnarine, both now available worldwide from all major digital retailers, from FOX FUSE. A long-time household name known to chutney fans internationally as Dil-E-Nadan, the band is now fronted by lead vocalist Raymond Ramnarine, while his brother Richard Ramnarinehelms their production house Bakyard Studios, crafting chutney and chutney soca anthems, to the delight of fans of the exciting Indo-Caribbean genres.
Red-hot “Ramsingh” debuted for the 2017 Trinidad Carnival season and made an instant splash on radio and playlists throughout the chutney and soca communities. Its massive fan-appeal fueled it to become the most popular chutney soca song in Trinidad, across the Caribbean and now globally, as it becomes available to chutney music lovers everywhere. The thrilling track tells the story of a “sweetman” called Ramsingh Sharma - a villager from San Juan, and his exploits with his wife and mistress. This tremendous momentum propelled “Ramsingh” to earn the 2017 Chutney Soca Monarch title for Maharaj, who entered the competition as a solo act with the song.
The duo of Maharaj and Ramnarine, once again armed with a chutney classic from Bakyard Studios, delivered “Balkissoon,” which brings more traditional chutney vibes, beautifully backed by Indian dholak drums. “Balkissoon” also profiles the mischief created by a man named Balkissoon, who runs away with another man’s wife. Accompanied by intoxicating beats, both songs provide the perfect soundtrack for chutney parties across the world, for years to come.
