Directed by Mykal Cushnie, the 'Everything is Irie' video showcases the rising star, who hails from Bull Bay, St. Thomas. “We juxtaposed real life with abstract images to give the audience the ‘a day in the life’ vibe with Yeza, but also kept it edgy with cool locations and colorful styling. Real images with real youths touching the road, making moves and music,” explains Mykal.

YEZA, derived from the name Yezambique, which means ‘Strength and Resilience’ in Swahili, wants to liberate African minds through her music. The singer-songwriter is confident about her debut single, which was self- written and jointly produced with Calibud Music & Universal Reggae Sounds, and is a true reflection of one of her mantras.“The song is an encouragement for everyone, no matter who you are or what stage of life you are in, despite any challenge, to maintain a positive attitude”.

A graduate of the UWI, YEZA is working in partnership with record label Universal Reggae Sounds, and is currently recording with Calibud Music, Equinoxx Music and Supa Nova, in preparation for her debut EP ‘Rebel on the Run.’ YEZA is steadily building her fan base locally and aims to make an impact on the world through her music, iconic melodies, and beautiful yet militant demeanour. ‘Everyting is Irie,’ recorded at the legendary Digital B Recording Studio on the classic 'Hotmilk' riddim, was released on March 31 through VPAL music and is available on all digital media and sales platforms.

The video launch which was held on Tuesday June 13 at Stones Throw Bar, featured musical selections by Black Revelationz sound and performances from upcoming artistes to a very interactive audience. The militant Aza Lineage, Asadenaki (son of Legendary Bunny Wailer), King Calie, Dre Tosh (grandson of Peter Tosh) and Giark, stood out amongst the talent that were given a platform. YEZA followed with a riveting performance with the ‘Rebel Up’ band which showcased her versatility, lyrical and vocal prowess.
