Renowned Jamaican producer DJ Blizzard has stamped an indelible imprint on the music scene since his induction in 2009. He stands as a multifaceted recording artiste, writer, audio engineer and graphic designer and of course producer.
DJ Blizzard’s fresh new concepts coupled with his innovative and creative sounds have made him a front runner as a producer. His productions encompass a wide range of reggae, dancehall and EDM styles. With a constantly evolving sound, DJ Blizzard continues to experiment with and cross over into various musical genres.
Early Years
Born Dwayne Hibbert to parents Jennifer Hamilton and Hopeton Hibbert, Blizzard always knew that he would make a valuable contribution to the music industry. He is the grandson of living legend Toots Hibbert, which awarded him the first-hand experience of crafting masterpieces from an early age.
DJ Blizzard’s interest in music started from as early as preparatory school. He was the lead drummer of the Liberty Drummers group who represented Jamaica at the World Championship of the performing arts where the group acquired a silver and bronze medal.
He has come a long way since then and has made a huge impact on the musical landscape through the creation of his unique musical arrangements and high quality production.
Musical Career
The young prodigy started his professional career by approaching various artistes with his compositions and getting them to voice. Hibbert admits that this was not an easy task but ultimately it was all worth it.
DJ Blizzard further cemented his success in the business by working with some notable names including Teetimus, Tanto Blacks, Gwhizz, Richie Loops, Leftside, Lutan Fyah, Toots And The Maytals, Luciano , Sizzla Khalonji, Future Fambo, Patexx, Harry Toddler , Kalado ,
Beenie Man etc.
Currently he is promoting his new rhythm Bunkx Around which has gained commercial success on both the local and international scene. He also looks forward to releasing a new single for Sizzla Kolonji titled “Good Vibes”.
