Machel Montano set to return to Bermuda for National Heroes Weekend

The king of soca is to return to Bermuda for National Heroes Weekend.

Machel Montano, a Trinidadian headline artist, will perform for the first time at a holiday associated with Bermuda’s growing carnival scene.

Promoter Declan Harris said Mr Montano was “the number one soca artist, coming for a weekend with a lot of soca-related events — which is huge for fans of soca and people generally”.

Mr Harris added: “He’s far and beyond the top soca act.

“He’s been doing it for 30 years, since he was a kid, and he’s one of those performers that you never have to worry whether he is going to bring it.

“He has a reputation for high intensity, with hits that he will be whipping out one after another.”

The show at the National Sports Centre is scheduled for June 17.

The event will also include DJ Rusty G, DJ Young Chow and Jazzy T.

Tickets are priced at $65 or $150 for a VIP experience and are available at bdatix.bm.
