In April, a TV movie production firm will film a romantic comedy on the island, which will premiere on the Hallmark Channel in Summer 2023.
The Triventure Films Limited location production of "From Paradise With Love" will take place April 15-May 2, 2022 at Saint Lucia's Premium All-Inclusive Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa and the luxury, couples-only Serenity at Coconut Bay.
"From Paradise, With Love" is the working title for the film.
It's about an investigative TV reporter who thinks she's found a big scoop when she photographs a parrot thought to be extinct in Saint Lucia.
Together with a skeptic local conservationist, their journey into the jungle in search of the mysterious bird leads them to discover something they thought was impossible — love.
The 16-member cast and crew will film on location in Saint Lucia's world-famous natural wonders, including the UNESCO World Heritage Pitons and the rainforest, which is home to the country's own astonishingly beautiful but elusive Saint Lucia Parrot (Amazona versicolor).
The cast ziplines, takes a catamaran excursion, and rides the aerial tram in the film. The project will also shoot at both resorts, taking advantage of amenities such as the mile-long beach on 85 acres, Serenity at Coconut Bay's Plunge Pool Butler Suites, and a beachfront wedding celebration at Coconut Bay Beach Resort Spa's gazebo.
Brooke Burfitt from "Christmas Lovers Anonymous," Philip Boyd from Tyler Perry's "The Have and Have Nots," and Nathan Kehn from "Dying To Marry Him," best known for his social media handle @nathanthecatlady, star in the film.
Local performers will play a variety of roles in the film, and auditions are now being done by self-tape submission.
