The celebration of life for reggae artiste Denroy Morgan will take place over two days this weekend on April 8th and 9th, 2022.

A funeral activity program outlines the two-day activities that will commemorate Morgan's passing on March 4, 2022.

On Friday, April 8, viewing for the state-like funeral will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the National Indoor Sports Centre, followed by a funeral service with opening prayers by the Ethiopian Orthodox Coptic Church.

Mr. Morgan's funeral will include a celebration of his life, with musical interludes from the Nyahbinghi Drummers and live Band or Track Performances by his Industry Friends.

The Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, will offer the introductory remarks, followed by dedications from family and friends. There will also be a pre-recorded video message from his friends Iyanla Vanzant and Kendall Minter, as well as concluding words from Culture and Entertainment Minister Olivia 'Babsy' Grange.

A motorcade will leave Perry's Funeral Home on Saturday, April 9, for the interment, stopping by Spanish Town Square, the 12 Tribes of Israel HQ on Hope Road, and Heritage Estate in Port Morant, St Thomas.

According to a JIS Statement, the farewell activities in Jamaica follow a private thanksgiving service in Atlanta, Georgia, earlier this month.

Morgan is the father of Morgan Heritage, a well-known reggae band. Denroy Morgan died at his home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, surrounded by his children and extended family members, after a long battle with cancer.

Morgan leaves 104 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren behind.
