Jamaica’s spirit of resilience, unity, and global influence will be on full display this March as distinguished leaders, cultural icons, and members of the diaspora gather for a landmark evening of purpose and celebration. The Right Now for Jamaica (RNFJ) Inaugural Fundraiser Gala Dinner & Concert promises to be more than just an elegant affair—it is a powerful statement of commitment to rebuilding and strengthening Jamaica’s future.

A Night Honoring Excellence in Leadership

At the heart of the evening is a moment of national pride: The Honorable Audrey P. Marks, Jamaica’s Minister of Efficiency, Innovation & Digital Transformation, will be presented with the

Inaugural President’s Award.

Marks, who previously served nearly a decade as Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, is widely respected for her transformative leadership and unwavering dedication to the Jamaican diaspora. Her recognition comes in light of her pivotal role in mobilizing international relief efforts following the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa in October 2025.

Her work has not only strengthened diplomatic and economic ties but has also reinforced a global support system for Jamaicans at home and abroad. Adding to her growing list of accolades, Marks was also honored with the 2026 Golden Heart Award by the Tree of Life Foundation International earlier this year—further cementing her legacy as a leader driven by service and impact.

An Evening of Purpose and Impact

Set to take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the gala will be hosted at the prestigious Royal Ballroom in Bowie, Maryland.

This inaugural event is designed with a clear mission: to support the long-term recovery and sustainable renewal of Jamaican communities affected by recent natural disasters.

Proceeds from the gala will directly contribute to rebuilding key sectors across the island, including:

  • Education systems

  • Healthcare infrastructure

  • Community development initiatives

It is a call to action for the diaspora and supporters worldwide to play an active role in Jamaica’s rebuilding journey.

A World-Class Cultural Showcase

True to Jamaica’s rich cultural heritage, the evening will also deliver an unforgettable musical experience.

The concert will be headlined by two-time Grammy-nominated reggae powerhouse Etana, whose soulful voice and conscious lyrics have made her a global ambassador for reggae music.

She will be joined by an iconic lineup, including:

  • Mykal Rose & Ras Mista Fyah

  • Julian “Junior” Marvin

  • The Legendary Wailers

Together, these artists will create a vibrant soundtrack for the evening—blending roots reggae, culture, and unity into a powerful celebration of Jamaican identity.

Distinguished Patronage and Global Support

The event will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Major General (Ret’d) Antony Anderson, Jamaica’s current Ambassador to the United States, further underscoring the significance of the gala on both diplomatic and cultural levels.

His presence highlights the continued importance of diaspora engagement in national development and international collaboration.

A Defining Moment for the Jamaican Diaspora

The RNFJ Inaugural Gala is more than a fundraiser—it is a movement. It represents a unified effort to channel global Jamaican pride into meaningful action, ensuring that communities across the island not only recover but thrive.

From honoring visionary leadership to amplifying the power of music and community, the evening encapsulates what Jamaica stands for: resilience, excellence, and an unbreakable global family.
