Porter Airlines is expanding its Caribbean footprint with three new nonstop routes from Ottawa, giving Canadian travelers more convenient access to Aruba, Jamaica and Turks and Caicos during the 2026–2027 winter travel season.

The Canadian carrier confirmed on November 5, 2026, that its expanded winter schedule will introduce direct connections from Ottawa International Airport to three popular Caribbean destinations, strengthening the capital region’s access to tropical getaways while supporting tourism across the islands.

The new services begin in phases throughout November and December, offering travelers more opportunities to escape Canada’s colder months without connecting through another airport.

Three Caribbean Destinations, Three New Routes

The expansion begins November 7 with nonstop Ottawa–Oranjestad, Aruba flights up to three times weekly. Aruba is known for white-sand beaches, sunshine and vibrant Dutch-Caribbean culture.

On November 25, Porter introduces nonstop Ottawa–Montego Bay, Jamaica flights, operating up to twice weekly. The connection provides access to Jamaica’s north coast, including its resorts, beaches, restaurants and cultural attractions.

On December 17, Ottawa–Providenciales, Turks and Caicos service begins, also operating up to twice weekly, just ahead of the Christmas and New Year holiday travel period.

Porter will be the only airline offering nonstop service from Ottawa to Aruba and Turks and Caicos.

A More Comfortable Caribbean Travel Experience

All three routes will use 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft with a two-by-two seating configuration. With no middle seats, each passenger has a window or aisle seat.

Nearly 600 Winter Flights Planned

Porter expects to operate nearly 600 flights from Ottawa to destinations across the Caribbean, Mexico and Costa Rica this winter, an increase of more than 80 percent compared with the previous year.

The additional capacity could create opportunities for Caribbean hotels, restaurants, tour operators and other tourism businesses as more Canadian travelers gain direct access to the region.

What the Expansion Means for Caribbean Tourism

Canada is an important winter visitor market for Caribbean destinations. For Jamaica, the Ottawa–Montego Bay route creates another direct gateway to the island’s north coast, with onward travel options to Negril and Ocho Rios.

For Aruba, the new connection supports access to the island’s beaches, dining, watersports and multicultural heritage. For Turks and Caicos, the Providenciales service adds a nonstop Canadian option during the peak holiday season.

Expanded air links can also make it easier for Caribbean diaspora communities in Canada to visit relatives and maintain cultural connections.

A Growing Connection Between Canada and the Caribbean

The expansion underscores the importance of Caribbean destinations to Canada’s winter leisure market. Travelers should consult Porter Airlines directly for current schedules, fares and booking information at www.flyporter.com.
