- TIFA comes under fire from Slim Women with song ‘BIG BUMPA’
A very poignant statement at the beginning of the song.... "Da one yah a big up all a di big bumper gal dem...mawga gyal mi tyad a unnu go one side" while a portion of Tifa fans have found their theme song, another cross section is up in arms about it. The lyrics to the just released single on the Moscato Riddim is praising and empowering women with plump derrieres -whether real or fake- on a fun up-tempo beat that could easily fall into Soca juggling, "Different songs are made praising different body types all the time, so me praising the shapely, thicker or ‘Big Bumper’ women should be no big deal!!. We live in a world where skinny and flat is praised on a large scale as healthy or beautiful, well, so are the shapely women!! Big up all a di big bumper GYAL dem!!!" - Tifa said in a statement to the media. Despite Tifa's innocence, or maybe her stance in the name of self expressive art, some fans have taken to social media to express their distaste with what they believe is a discriminatory track. But as she mentioned....she wouldn't be the first, in 2006 Leftside and Esco released ‘Tuck in You Belly’ a direct jab at women with a little more weight around the waistline. Despite the controversy surrounding ‘ BIG BUMPA ’ the ‘ Back it Up ’ singer is looking forward to a BIG year in music. Tifa is expected to release another single later this week titled ‘ The Champ ’ courtesy of ZJ Chrome and currently enjoys premium rotation on the airwaves with ‘ Bout This Love ’ along with the remix for ‘ Belleh’ featuring Sanjay, Demarco and Shelly Belly. Adding to her growing accolades is a collective six nominations, two for IRIE JAM’s Online Awards in the categories of ‘ Best Collaboration’ and ‘ Video of the Year ’ for her 2014 Dexta Daps duet ‘ Jealous Ova ’. The additional four comes courtesy of the upcoming Youth View Awards (YVAs) set for February 20th at the National Indoor Sports Center . Amid a hectic schedule the dancehall diva is making final preparations for an assignment in Florida in the weeks ahead.

Dwayne Wallace more popularly known as Kapri , has risen out of the city of Kingston, Jamaica as one of the young fresh talents in the new generation of dancehallers. Born and raised in the community of Pembroke Hall in Kingston. As the youngest of seven siblings life wasn't easy growing up but a close knit made things easier. Wallace attended Pembroke Hall Primary School where he was an avid part of the school's choir; but even then, he had no clue that music was his calling. Later he moved on to Pembroke Hall High School at the age of thirteen and it was there he and others around him started to realize the talent that he had. Kapri always had a knack for music and he began to put himself out there, being more confident in his music, exposing his talent to family and friends. Kapri had one friend in particular, a friend called Sean “ Seanizzle ” Reid who was already involved in music at that time. He had worked with many top Jamaican artistes such as Beenie Man, Mavado, Elephant Man, T.O.K just to name a few, he noticed Kapri’s talent and encouraged him to continue doing music Kapri took the advice and started to make appearances at various concerts and stage shows. Wallace recalls a tremendous feedback from the crowds and it was this that pivoted him to wanting to become a professional recording artiste. After two years Seanizzle and Kapri reunited, Sean invited Kapri to the studio where he was working then. He introduced Kapri to Producer/Recording Artiste “Mr. G” where he auditioned for a riddim called Stepfather. Mr. G invited Kapri to a DJ competition called “Battle Thursdays,” this was a program created to find new talents and as expected he confidently won the battle twice in a row this was the boost that he was looking for in his career as he got interviews from both RETV and Hype TV, two top local Jamaican entertainment stations. - Mr Easy Premiers ‘Bashment Gal’ Video & Invades Norfolk, Virginia
PRISM MARKETING CONSULTANTS || FEBRUARY 10, 2016 || An unmistakable voice, a smooth sound, and a dancehall classic in the form of "Drive Me Crazy " is what has made Mr Easy a staple in the annals of Jamaica's Music. The artiste who got his initial exposure in music at a time when Dancehall was in its formative years, takes it back to that original styling for his new timepiece project titled ‘ Bashment Gal’. Before artistes like Yellow Man , Michigan and Smiley and Barrington Levy were able to put the dancehall sound on records, Dancehall only existed in the physical space with major vocalists linked to various sound systems toasting on the B side of major Vinyl records. From the very first cord of this Ricky Blaze produced single Bashment Gal, a feeling of nostalgia, - for those who were around in the early 70's and 80's- takes over, while those too young to know are exposed to the origins of dancehall and what many will argue was the best period for the genre. Be that as it may, what is undeniable is that Bashment Gal is a catchy, well produced, feel good song that has all the ingredients to become another classic for Easy. The Jay Will directed video for the single which was launched on January 30th on Winford Williams ' Onstage is currently making its rounds on various television platforms and beautifully captures the energy of the song. The video takes us back into an iconic period in time for dancehall: the bright clothing, colored wigs and dancing that have all been highly celebrated and replicated by artistes of today. Shot in Kingston Jamaica, the song depicts its title, a Bashment Gal , which is a sexy confident vibrant but at the same time classy woman, the best reference is Carlene Smith , Jamaica's first Dancehall Queen, crowned in 1992 . Making a cameo in the video is flamboyant DJ Tanto Blacks who showed off his acting skills. Now viewable on Youtube, the video and the single - now available on itunes- forms the backdrop of Mr Easy's new campaign in music, with his earliest platform being this Saturday February 13th at The MP Ultra Longe in Norfolk, Virginia for a party called " Red & White Valentines Affair" where Easy performs live.
