Celebrity Q & A - 15 Random Questions with American Reggae Recording Artiste Zoo Rass


Hailing from Brooklyn, New York Zoo Rass is an American dancehall/reggae recording artist with a Guyanese & Jamaican background. In 2015 he gained success from his debut EP “The Rasta Prince” which peaked at #54 on the I-Tunes chart in North America and having his single “Come Outta Mi Way” featured on VH1 and MTV. The artist is best known for his hit single “Pressure.” His sound is one of a kind.

Zoo Rass music is traditional dancehall music with a twist. He engages his listeners with catchy lyrics & melodies but tends to dip into different genres while still keeping that authentic dancehall sound.

Zoo Rass is also a college graduate with a bachelor degree in Sports Management.

CEM had the chance to do a Q&A with this talented and inspirational artiste.

What conspiracy theory do you actually believe?

Can’t think of any

What song do you have to sing along with when you hear it?

There is a lot of songs that I sing along with when I hear it, but I think the song I have to sing along with is "Dry Cry" by Sizzla. It’s one of my favorite songs by him and is so relatable

What fad have you held on to, even though it isn’t popular anymore?

I think the long t-shirt fad. I was recently told that it’s dying out, but I still love the style.

What’s your favourite thing to shop for? Why?

Shirt, jeans….. Clothes in general. I think the way you dress can tell you a lot about you and can also describe your mood depending on your outfit.

What ridiculous thing has someone tricked you into doing or believing?

One time someone called me to try to book me for a show. It was strange to me because most bookings go through management and I had gotten a phone call. They tried to set up a meeting and everything with me, but at the last minute I decided not to do it because I thought it was a gimmick which it was.

What easy thing do you most often screw up?

Not responding to text messages

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?

Travel…… I think everyone should travel and experience new things. No matter if it’s going to another country, state, or even going away for school traveling will open your eyes to different things and make you think different.

If you could make one rule that everyone had to follow, what rule would you make?

That every state in the United States make college free no matter if it’s private or public.

What’s one thing someone would be surprised to know about you?

That I don’t smoke. Most people think I smoke because I’m a Rasta and have dreads. Most people always tell me “you’re the only Rasta I know that don’t smoke.”
