Only a few days into the new year and 4th Genna recording artiste Govana has already hit the ground running, with the release of a brand new video for 'Gyal Thief', the sequel to his 2017 breakout hit 'Gyal Clown'. After being hauled before the court in his previous music video by several men accusing their female counterparts of having lecherous desires towards the deejay. Govana appears to be obdurate in his ways once again getting himself embroiled in even more controversy in this latest instalment of the ongoing saga. Meanwhile, despite being given the stamp of approval as the 'Breakthrough Artiste Of the Year' in various quarters of the entertainment industry. The Spanish Town deejay was officially given the nod of approval last Thursday at the 2018 launch of the Your View Awards (YVAs), formerly known as Youth View Awards.
Nominated for 'Breakout Celebrity Of The Year', Govana says though he's thankful for the recognition, he will not allow the achievement to obscure his current focus. "Thank you to the organisers and my fans for the continued support. Getting this recognition is already a win for me." Govana said, "However, the journey has just begun and there's still a lot of ground to cover, so right now I'm just focused on the work and taking my career to that next level." - He added. Celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, the YVAs will adopt a four-day format commencing February 22-25. Govana is currently riding high with the singles 'Gyal Clown' and 'Breeze', a collaborative effort with label-mate Aidonia.
