Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Radio Marks First Anniversary On SiriusXM

The one-year anniversary of Bob Marley's Tuff Gong Radio is today. Tuff Gong Radio, Tuff Beats, and Tuff SocaMare are the product of a collaboration between SiriusXm and the Marley group of companies.

Bob Marley's Tuff Gong Radio debuted on the SiriusXM satellite platform on December 3 of last year. The channel's programming mandate is to provide listeners the real sounds of Jamaican music, from its roots to today's sounds.

Tuff Gong radio's primary programming includes weekly mix shows from some of the region's most popular on-air artists, including ZJ Sparks, Collin Hines, DJ Jel, and DJ Delano, in addition to the richness of music from the Marley/Tuff Gong collections. Cedella Marley, the CEO, also hosts and curates a weekly mix show.

“We always knew that we wanted the voices of Jamaica's airwaves to be a part of Tuff Gong Radio. Their voices don't just bring the music, they help to bring the energy and spirit of Jamaica. Even though the focus is on the music, when you hear us talking about the music and the artistes it's important that the talk be just as authentic,” said Marley

Tuff Gong Radio has honored icons (Toots & the Maytals, Lee "Scratch" Perry, U-Roy, and others), celebrated women in reggae (Good Girls Culture), and premiered new music from musicians such as Busy Signal and Gramps Morgan.

In addition, for Rita Marley's 75th birthday celebration in July, the channel presented an exclusive live performance broadcast from Jamaica.

Tuff Gong Radio is available on SiriusXM radios, online, and through the SiriusXM app. SiriusXM's platforms reach more than 150 million listeners across all digital audio genres - music, sports, talk, and podcasts – making it the largest digital radio provider in North America.
