Jamaican Olympian Diver, Yona Knight-Wisdom Designs Own Swim Trucks for the Olympic

Yona Knight-Wisdom

Yona Knight-Wisdom, a Jamaican diver, has fulfilled his dream to create his own swimming trunks.

He shared the news via twitter

"I remember a parent of a diver hand making me some Jamaican trunks for my first Worlds in Barcelona 2013, and I thought “imagine how cool it would be to design my own swimwear one day” Well that day has come, I’m happy to finally share what we have come up with for the Games!"

Knight-Wisdom collaborated with Budgy Smuggler, an Australian men's swimwear company, to create pieces inspired by the Jamaican flag's black, green, and gold colors.

Yona was born in the United Kingdom to Jamaican and Barbadian parents, but he represents Jamaica. In 2016, he made history as the first Jamaican male to qualify for the Olympics and the first male diver from the Caribbean.

He has also qualified to participate in the Tokyo Games. At the FINA 2021 FINA World Cup on May 6, he was 12th on the 3-meter springboard.
