Jazz ‘n Creole: A Celebration of Music, Culture, and Cuisine


Jazz ‘n Creole

The 12th edition of Jazz ‘n Creole, a fusion of jazz and creole music, will take place on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Fort Shirley in the Cabrits National Park, Portsmouth, from 2PM to 9PM. The event has been growing in popularity since its inception in 2010, and this year's theme is 'rainforest fantasy.' The festival offers a wide range of musical genres and incorporates cuisine, dance, culture, and the arts.


Tickets for the event can be purchased online for EC$150, and patrons are encouraged to purchase them in advance. Tickets for children aged 12 to 17 are available for EC$75, while children under 12 enter for free. Tickets purchased at the gate will be sold for EC$175. Special packages that include accommodation, Jazz ‘n Creole tickets, and experiences can also be booked directly via the website.


The festival includes several special features, including a VIP area for those who prefer a little extra pampering, a 'Kids Zone' that offers fun activities such as face painting, and the popular 360 video booth for social media sharing. The festival's current lineup includes several notable performers, including Black Violin, Island Jazz Collective featuring Jussi Paavola, Phyllisia Ross, Signal Band, and Swingin Stars. Jazz ‘n Creole is presented by the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica through the Ministry of Tourism and Discover Dominica Authority (DDA). The event's sponsors include HHV Whitchurch & Co.
