Barbados’ vibrant Crop Over Festival reached a thrilling crescendo during Grand Kadooment, with the energetic anthem “Tek Charge” by Leadpipe (Osvaldo Reid) taking center stage and officially securing the title of 2025 Road March King. The soca powerhouse’s infectious track dominated the streets, earning 18 plays at the official judging points, more than any other contender.

This win marks a triumphant third Road March title for Lead Pipe, further solidifying his legacy in Bajan soca history. From the moment the festival season kicked off, “Tek Charge” had the crowd in a frenzy — its bold, commanding chorus and electrifying rhythm made it a clear crowd favorite. By the time masqueraders hit the road for Grand Kadooment, there was no denying the song’s impact: it was the undisputed anthem of the day.
Crop Over Royalty Reaffirmed
Lead Pipe’s latest win is a testament to his consistency and artistry within the Crop Over arena. Having already claimed Road March titles in previous years, this victory showcases his ability to evolve while still capturing the spirit and energy of the festival.
"Winning never gets old, but this one feels special," Lead Pipe shared after the announcement. "This song was for the people, and they took charge with me. Crop Over is more than music — it’s love, culture, and freedom."
Tight Competition on the Road
Though “Tek Charge” led the pack, it wasn’t without competition. Rising soca star Jordan English secured second place with his high-energy track “Darkers”, played 11 times at judging points, and earned a $5,000 prize. English continues to prove he’s a force to be reckoned with, captivating younger audiences with his fusion of modern rhythms and classic Crop Over energy.
Veteran hitmaker Lil Rick rounded out the top three with “Dial 911”, which played 4 times, bringing home $2,000. Known for his unmatched ability to move a crowd, Lil Rick’s continued relevance is a testament to his enduring talent.
“Tek Charge” Becomes a Cultural Moment
More than just a Road March win, “Tek Charge” became a cultural moment — a unifying chant that echoed from fetes to the parade route. Whether blaring from music trucks or chanted by revellers in feathers and glitter, the song embodied the essence of Crop Over 2025: bold, joyful, and empowering.
With this latest victory, Lead Pipe’s name is now etched even deeper into the history of Barbadian music. As fans across the island and the diaspora celebrate this iconic win, “Tek Charge” will no doubt live on as one of the defining sounds of this year’s Crop Over season.
